Lauda

About

Lauda (spell it like Laura, say it like chowder) are a soul/funk-pop band from Bedford, UK. Their journey began in September 2018 when two mates (Tim & Sam) combined efforts and started writing together, but didn’t become a band until an epiphany moment during a showing of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, the Hollywood blockbuster Queen biopic. The boys realised everything’s better when done in team, and quickly formed a trio & started gigging. Now a four-piece, their exploits have taken them to headline venues such as The Bedford in Balham (but they’re quick to point out their availability to play in locations that don’t feature the word “Bedford”), as well as touring southern France.
In the breaks between events, Lauda have been recording their debut EP, ‘Coffee & Careful Hugs’. Described as “early Maroon 5 meets Ed Sheeran”, this project is built from the initial songs the band wrote together, and was inspired by everything from retro disco to John Mayer.
