Looking For Droids

About

Looking for Droids was formed during the Summer of 2010 after Jason and Pav had a few jam sessions. The only natural way was to get more people involved and that's how JD and Z joined.

The band began to create music that quickly separated them from their previous bands due to their ability to fashion tracks from a foundation of catchy riffs, frenetic drumming and melodic vocals that tell relevant and insightful stories that listeners can immediately relate to.
The overall sound is powerful, emotive, clear and tight, their use of dynamics help with the creation of musical soundscapes tender yet very full on. The sum of their individual musical roots takes them to unexpected places, from Latin American tribal drum beats to African grooves to Eastern European melodies. The four members are in tune with their musical origins but also very aware that Rock is the magnet that bring all those influences together. They come from Colombia, South Africa and Poland. A very eclectic mix.

Looking for Droids recorded their debut album at PointBlank Studios in London and since then they have been promoting their music with live performances in places where some of the greats have played before—following in the footsteps of their idols. The different approach in sound has been only good for the band and with more gigs under their belt and with the release of their tracks on iTunes and Spotify things can only get better.

As Looking for Droids they have played @ the O2 BarAcademy, The Barfly, The Garage, The Underworld, Dogstar, Cargo, Water Rats, The Bull & Gate, The Dublin Castle, Buffalo Bar, The Borderline, Hoxton Square Kitchen Bar & Grill, The Queen of Hoxton, Punk Club, The Underbelly, The Watershed and The Clapham Grand to name a few. They even played in the now defunct Metro Club and The Marquee.  As members of other bands they have performed in Rock al Parque, Kool Rock Festival (Colombia), Rock the River Festival, Oppikoppi Festival, 5FM Birthday Bash, Vall Show, Jack Daniels Festival (South Africa), Medykalia Festival (Poland), Camden Crawl Festival and the Brighton Festival in the UK.

Looking for Droids have been building a strong following and every time they play, the website gets more hits and their social network pages keep growing.

In 2013 they plan to spread their music outside the UK with the first and second leg of their European tour hitting Poland and Croatia during the Spring.

To sum them up you can say that Looking for Droids are a rock band that likes overdriven amplifiers, loud guitars, big drums and catchy melodies.
