Madcap Stranger

About

Madcap Stranger are a 4 piece rock n roll band hailing from North London. The band, first brought together through a love of the London music scene, infuses a gritty indie rocknroll incarnation with big guitar hooks and resounding vocal melodies.

After receiving great plaudits for their debut EP, The Slaughterhouse Sessions recorded by Adem Hilmi (Florence and the Machine, The Holloways, Pete Doherty), the band’s sound has matured into a more captivating sound that has led them to follow up with a new EP installment.

The band are currently recording their second EP with French producer JB Pilon (Grace Moon & Jaguar) at London’s Wax Studios. Recent work at Wax has included Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ band, Paul Jackson (Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters) and Ian Thomas (Michael Jackson, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan). Here's a quick taster of what to expect….

Soldier of Rock‘n’Roll  – (Track 1)
Not so surprisingly, this one is a high octane Rock‘n’Roll number that combines dirty vocals, striking riffs and an epic chorus. Written in reference to the current lack of interest in modern day Rock‘n’Roll, it’s the one you might be hearing much more about…

Lost & Found – (Track 2)
This song comes from the other side of the bands creative spectrum and shows a more delicate side to the band with sweet melodies and a ¾ time signature. Influenced by songs such as Fleetwood Mac’s Albatross & The Rolling Stones Moonlight Mile.

Follow The Sun – (Track 3)
The EP is brought to a close with a lighter number. Up-tempo in its heart, this one has a catchy harmonica melody that produces a happy, summertime feeling and also demonstrates the real variety in the bands song writing. Watch out for this one during summer 2015.

Following their single launch with Hotvox in late 2014, the lads are looking forward to a big 2015 where they’re planning a national wide UK tour.

Attitude on stage, stomping Rock‘n’Roll and a swaggering sense of cool, they really are a band worth going out of your way to see.
