MARIA. is a R&B/Soul singer-songwriter, but her blended influences leaned on her music, which takes many forms all at once: ‘90s R&B, jazz, Motown, Soul with hints of boastful Hip-Hop and Neo-Soul. Her music and voice is undeniably raw, yet the structure she often chooses for her songs is contemporary and urban enough to attract different types of listeners. Her art speaks to those who love Erykah Badu, but also to those who love Daniel Caesar, H.E.R or SZA. Being a ‘90s child, she grew up listening to a lot of R&B music, Aaliyah and Alicia Keys being two of her main influences, which can be heard in her sound and her musical character.
