Marianna & The Nation

About

Marianna started singing at a very young age back in her home country, Italy, where she started taking lessons with Lorena Scaccia, one of the best and most recognized vocal coaches in the country. That was in 1991.She hasn’t stopped ever since.

 

She took part in some of the most prestigious singing contest as a young talent and had the pleasure to work with some of greatest names in the history of Italian music such as Rita Pavone, Teddy Reno.

Always very involved in trying to help others through her musical talent, she successfully took part and organized many music events such as “Oltre Le note”, “Telethon” and any more.

At the age of 16 she got tho the final stages of ” A voice for Sanremo” and she was subsequently admitted to the Academy of songs. It was in that very moment that Marianna’s career as a songwriter started.

She auditioned for Italian Academy of Acting, improvising and Singing “Achille Togliani” where she learned about acting and took part in many different plays playing different roles.

 

In the meantime she received the honour of singing for Pope John Paul II together with her vocal coach – Lorena Scaccia –  and a few other students of her music school.

A life changing experience that got her singing in front of millions of People and experience that was to be repeated few years after for the European Youth Day in Loreto in the presence of the new elected Pope Benedict XVI.

 

Marianna took part in quite a few tv programs nationally and opened many concerts for very important Italian artists like Giorgia, Gilda Giuliani, I “Cugini di Campagna” and many others until her international career started in 2001, when after having gone to a Gospel concert in her hometown, she was recruited by the same choir to embark on a tour that lasted nearly 4 years and saw her become “the white girl with the black voice”.

 

During her tour years she also had the privilege to meet and work with some great international musicians like Richard (Dick) Halligan, an American musician and composer, best known as a founding member of the jazz-rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears, part of the Epic Woodstock together with Janis Joplin and many more, and who also received a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Performance for “Variations On A Theme By Erik Satie” from the album Blood, Sweat & Tears.

She also worked with Mike Japp, writer and co-writer of many songs for “Paul Stanley”, “Kiss” and “The Babys”. She also collaborated on several project with Sound engineer Rory Madden, “We Will Rock You Executive Producer Phil McIntyre, Cj Ranger and many other amazing people.

 

After the amazing experiences gained during the almost four years of touring, Marianna started preparing for the start of her journey towards international recognition as a solo artist. As like in the lives of many others before her, it was not always easy and she had to overcome huge obstacles and missing opportunities but, regardless of all those experience she went on and she is has released her first Acoustic Ep: The Time Is Now which led to numerous performance in the Uk Capitals and her home Country Italy and many more countries of the world.

 

Following the release of The Time Is Now Ep, Marianna won an award for Best Uk Unsigned Hype act 2013 USH )and was nominated for Mtv Brand New Artist 2014 , hard rock rising – the global battle of the band nominee.

 

She has taken part in the Jazz Cafe Competition “Who’s Got the hits” and she won the 1st Edition”.

 

Marianna gained the attention of BBC radio introducing with one of her projects in collaboration with Duane Flames: M&D the drug.

 

With a series of projects and collaborations in the pipeline, after having taken part in the 2016 edition of the XFactor UK, Marianna has been travelling with the and she has released a new original EP – Untameable – released on the 1st February 2019. Untameable has generated the interest of plenty radio stations globally, including BBC Radio London where Marianna was invited to an interview with Aurie Styla and had an opportunity to perform Untameable live.
