Mary Leay

About

Mary Leay is an exciting new singer songwriter originally from West Sussex but now firmly rooted in South East London.

With recent co-writes for the likes of Cher and Union J and with several vocal appearances and tracks written for film and TV (including ‘Heartless’ starring Jim Sturgess, ‘The Decoy Bride’, David Tennant and BBC’s ‘Waterloo Road’) her song-writing career is seriously starting to take form.

Once described as “the lesser-known affair between Joni Mitchell and Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)”, her haunting vocals and heart-wrenching lyrics are the backbone for this artist who is still very much undiscovered.

With influences from a Folk and New Country world, Leay’s powerful lyrics, authentic voice and timeless songs are starting to gain the recognition and acclamation they deserve. To hear her live look out for news on performances in venues across London and further afield.
