MMIV was started by school friends Max Rawdon and Matt Hooper. After being overshadowed by Hooper on the drums, Rawdon set about playing guitar and writing songs to keep up. The pair began working together immediately. After living in different cities, playing in multiple bands at the same time, gigging together long distance and a failed solo venture, the two friends came together again for good in 2022. This time drafting in friend of Hooper’s Toby Wainwright on  bass, the band are performing across London aiming to reach as many people as they can.

Inspired by The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, LCD Soundsystem, Phoebe Bridgers and Hip Hop MMIV blends melody, groove and noise with ease.
