Nine Ace Deck are a 10 piece Funk-Rock group from Southampton, made up of a tight rhythm section, powerful brass, and charismatic vocalist. Writing their own original material, they produce a punchy and energetic sound that ranges from soulful to Prog-Rock. Key songwriters include: frontman Harley Mitford, whose influences from both classical and popular music culminate in a captivating progressive sound; guitarist Aaron Lewns, whose foundations in Rock and unique part-writing create a sound which is at once both robust and melancholic; and baritone saxophonist Robert Eastgate, whose strong R&B and Hip-Hop influences are ever-present in his groovy tracks. Founded in October 2014, Nine Ace Deck are an up and coming band on the Southampton music scene: 2015 saw them play at ‘Share The Sound’ festival in March 2015 and 2106, support ‘Land of the Giants’ at the Talking Heads in June 2015 and headline ‘Breastival’ in September 2015. They kicked off 2016 with a midnight slot at The Hobbit on New Year’s Eve and have regularly gigged across the South and in London. Nine Ace Deck look forward to supporting ‘Sun Arcana’ at the 02 Academy Islington in July and recording their first EP over the summer after releasing their debut single ‘Blue Moons’.
