After Paper Anthem‘s third record—2021’s not-COVID-album-COVID-album The Year You’ll Never Get Back—frontman Joseph Hitchcock felt it heralded the end of an era, and a geographical location. The success of that album allowed the American-born songwriter to move house to London, home to countless bands who inspired his sound, and finally form a band under the same name to continue the project. Enter guitarist Jack Taylor, bassist Carlo Haltrich, and drummer Joe Spoors, each bringing a new level of passion and proficiency to Hitchcock’s songwriting. A year and a half of behind-the-scenes album production will pay off sooner or later as the band bring their new sound to the stages of London.
