Paradigm Shift

About

Paradigm Shift Paradigm Shift write songs for lovers of music, combining delicate melodies, layered vocals, consummate musicianship and earth-shaking riffs. They have made it their mission to bring together the technical complexities of 70’s progressive rock, the immediacy of electronica and the adrenaline rush of heavy metal, all squeezed through the filter of their own brand of off-kilter experimentalism. While sounding akin to such American prog powerhouses as Dream Theater and Rush, they also very much continue the tradition of English progressive rock exemplified by King Crimson and Pink Floyd. They are united by admiration of contemporary bands such as Porcupine Tree and Opeth, who continue to develop these styles and find sizeable audiences eager for eccentric, technical rock music. The band was formed in 2007 by guitarist Reuben Krendel and keyboardist/vocalist Ben Revens. From the beginning they worked together closely to write music that was intelligent and still moving, that would appeal both to the head and to the heart. Soon afterwards, they found drummer Bryson Demath, who not only relished the challenging changes in style and tempo of their compositions, but pushed them to always make things still more interesting. Then when bassist Puru Kaushik walked into his audition and conquered one of their most complex songs within the hour, they knew their line-up was complete. After recording an ambitious and assured demo tape, they began to play the London gig circuit, impressing promoters at such venues as The Dublin Castle and The Bull and Gate. Attracting ever larger audiences, they are now looking to work together with a respected record label to reach new listeners, get in touch with promoters of new venues and follow the advice of some experienced voices in the industry. http://www.facebook.com/ukparadigmshift?ref=ts&sk=app_178091127385
