Periscopi Invertit mix Catalan folk melodies with North African rhythms and jazzy vibes and explores how old folk melodies can fuse with funk/latin/jazz arrangements, keeping their connection with some Mediterranean sounds and grooves.
The music is inspired by the legacy of “Ona Laietana” Barcelona’s underground bands from the 70’s and other contemporary artists like Marcus Miller, Dhafer Youssef, Peret, Renaud-Garcia-Fons, plus the influences of all the music Mireia found on her way travelling from Barcelona, Amsterdam to London (where she met plenty of afro-beat musicians).
Periscopi Invertit is the reflection of an immigration journey in a never ending multicultural world.
