Polly Money is 18 and Cornish through and through. Her voice is sun-kissed and melodious, her music upbeat – pop with a capital P. Her 5 track debut release ‘The ‘That Guy’ EP’ recorded in April at Sony ATV's Soho studio with producer Scott McCormick, showcase her substantial songwriting ability, considerable skills on both acoustic guitar and piano, and capture particularly the essence of her engaging live performances which have already won much support nationally. With the exception of the 'I Get Ideas' cover – a favourite of hers from M.Ward's 'Wasteland Companion' album – the tracks are all written, arranged and played by Polly.
With support slots, two tours and a number of festivals already under her belt, 2013 proved to be an amazing year. With performances at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe, London's KOKO and 11 festivals, Polly was spotted by Muse frontman Matt Bellamy at Marylebone Summer Fayre in June. She was then asked to support Muse at The Stade de France in front of an audience of 80,000 the very next weekend along with Dizzee Rascal and Biffy Clyro. Last summer saw Polly tour with Australian bluesman Ash Grunwald and co headline her own tour with Dan Owen. Polly then rounded off the year supporting the very talented Gabrielle Aplin.
In April Polly supported Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and a number of recent performances with BBC Radio Cornwall has led to a spot on the BBC Introducing stage at this years Glastonbury Festival.
Polly has been writing and performing her own material for eight years and this May will see her finish a BA Honours Degree in Songwriting at the prestigious London's Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and all before she reaches the age of 19. Committed to the craft of songwriting, Polly's career in music is only just starting to unfold.
