RIVIA, the four piece alt-rock band from Liverpool, takes the iconic big anthem sounds of the 80’s and combines it with the modern 00’s alt-rock; exploding onto the music scene with their debut independent single ‘Hello Stranger’ (2019) and booking their own first UK tour. ‘Last Orders’ (2019) continued their success, landing RIVIA support slots for big industry names such as Bloxx, Mallory Knox and Apre.
The band hoped to repeat their succession in 2020, however, the events of the pandemic meant the band faced cancellations to their 12 date UK tour and a slot at Great Escape Festival, Brighton. Despite the UK’s national lockdown, they chose to release ‘Down and Out’, unfazed by the cancelled tour and eager to spread a message of creativity.
RIVIA returned in 2021 with a bang, releasing their fourth single ‘Amsterdam’ alongside independent label, Big Condo Records. Hosting a launch party that resembled a small festival, RIVIA displayed how markedly improved their writing and live shows have become.
As 2021 came to a close, the band decided to round the year off in style with the release of ‘Wasted’ on New Years Eve.
RIVIA’s sound has been likened to Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Amazons and Alter-Bridge.
