Roberto Picazo

About

Born in Madrid of Spanish-English parents, Roberto took up the guitar at the age of 10. But it was only when he moved to the UK four years later that he really embraced the vibrant music scene in the South East. Roberto started a band, with Sixth Form friends, which stayed together for two years, playing several gigs in the area and recording a 4-track EP. In recent years, he has been writing and performing his own music, as a solo artist, in venues around Canterbury, Hastings and Tunbridge Wells, and is now extending his reach into London.  Whilst enjoying a range of different genres, Roberto has found a passion for Blues and Soul, and is influenced by the likes of Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, James Hunter and Dan Penn, amongst many others. He travelled the East Coast of the US over two months in early 2015, just after releasing his debut solo EP.
