Sabre Dance are an alt rock/indie band from London, led by siblings Phoebe and Conor McFarlane (vocals and guitar respectively), plus uni friends Alex Maynard (bass), Andy Campbell Smith (drums) and Sarah Assaf (synth). Drawing inspiration from artists such as Nothing But Thieves, Everything Everything and Jeff Buckley, Phoebe’s pure vocal tone contrasts with heavy guitar riffs, and a combination of anthemic choruses and unexpected time signatures creates a fresh take on modern rock. All classically-trained, the band’s name is taken from a ballet by the Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian.
