Sally Rushbrook & The Soothsayers

About

Sally’s music draws influence from folk, gypsy jazz and bar-room blues. Yet, this music seems as contemporary as ever it might have done when she uses these influences to craft narrative songs around characters with unmistakably modern preoccupations. Streams of consciousness and stories often form the basis of these introspective songs and subjects include passing time, changing hearts or perspectives and lost souls.

Encountering pianist Mark Young, drummer Adam Williams and bassist Tom Eldon on the London performing circuit, an ensemble was formed around Sally’s songs and The Soothsayers have been refining a sound distinctly their own live and in the studio for several years now.
