19-year-old Sam Eagle, is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the coast of Essex. Citing influences such as Nick Hakim, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar and Thundercat – Sam has worked on creating a sound that brings jazzy, left field pop tunes to the indie genre.
Since releasing his debut single ’15/8′ earlier this year, Sam has quickly built a loyal fan base and picked up strong support from BBC 6Music and BBC Introducing, with plays from Tom Robinson, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq, Shaun Keavney and Gideon Coe. Being chosen as BBC 6Music’s ‘Tune of the Week’ and BBC Introducing ‘Tip of the Week’ as well as playing at festivals such as The Great Escape , Liverpool Sound City and LATITUDE .
This support led to Sam and his band being invited to play the sunset slot at LATITUDE Festival on the BBC Introducing Stage. As well as to play live sessions on BBC Radio 6Music for Tom Robinson, and Radio X for John Kennedy.
