Stanford Road

About

Stanford Road are a UK Americana Roots duo noted for compelling harmonies and ‘no holds barred’ style of narrative songwriting.

Their debut single ‘Letters’ was released in 2014 ahead of the duo showcasing their musicianship on their first EP ‘Open Ended’ in February 2015, which also included their original songs ‘Independence Highway’, ‘So Wrong’, and ‘Fools Comfort’. The EP also included their stunning stripped back rendition of the Brooks & Dunn classic ‘Cowgirls Don’t Cry’.

The songwriting duo is comprised of experienced singer / songwriters and musicians, Terry and Rachael Muller. Blending both traditional and modern styles of Country & Americana influences into their music STANFORD ROAD are well on their way to carving themselves a niche on the UK’s Country and Americana scene with their own style of stunning original songs.

The pair met in 2007 following Rachael’s move to Stanford Road in Lymington, Hampshire before marrying in 2011. Terry ‘Blackjaz’ Muller, an energetic and multi-talented musician brought his experience of writing and performing in successful rock bands to the table as well as an undeniable ear for composing, while Rachael Battistini, an acclaimed playwright, poet and actress, became the perfect writing partner with her exceptional literary skills, eloquent melodies and ability to perform with both utter conviction and raw passion.

Over the years, Terry and Rachael have performed with many musicians and written original material for several other projects and in the summer of 2014, they decided to focus their abilities solely on writing, performing and recording the stunning original material that they had created together since meeting on Stanford Road.

Delivering their own unique blend of music and ‘sumptuous vocal harmonies’ right into the heart of Music City, the pair traveled in February 2015 to Nashville Tennessee to continue their ongoing ‘Open Ended’ tour. Performing at several well known venues in the city, and most notably at the legendary Bluebird Cafe.
