He's always a great crowd puller. We're expecting fantastic things from him as he pursues his solo career. He held the audience entranced during his last solo performance when he achieved amazing sounds on a variety of effect peddles …a veritable one man band. With his eclectic mix of Indi-folk-roots music, largely self penned, enhanced by thoughtful, poetic lyrics and coupled with an enticing voice, we're always well entertained. “Myrna Ray Carlisle folk and blues. www.stewsimpson.mfbiz.com Debut album now available on spotify http://open.spotify.com/album/2zv1I4lReCqEbOiXbniCyI All photography by Mike Griffiths of apetrure studios Carlisle (Cumbria). HERE IS A REVIEW FROM FATEA MAGAZINE Stew Simpson EP:All The Best Label:Self Released Website: http://www.myspace.com/stewsimpsonmusic Renaissance man Stew Simpson shows that there is more to singer/songwriter/actors from the North East than Sting and Jimmy Nail. "All The Best" is a carefully thought out ep that keeps a link between artist and the community he comes from. Half of the songs on the album are inspired by events and incidents in the north. These are combined with a song of wider view, based on the point of view of a four year old living in Iraq, "This Oil Is For You". It gives a sensitive focus rather than the rage and by doing so strikes deep. Simpson is a real wordsmith.
Other albums include, Trapped in time by Hadrian's Union 2010 (Self Release) In Your Own Time 2013 (Fellside Recordings)
