Strawgirl formed in 2022 when Chris (guitar), Sam (guitar) and Phil (bass) set out to start a new musical project. They met Edie (vocalist) in October, bonding over their shared love and nostalgia for the 1990s and the bands they grew up listening to. Karina (drums) completed their line-up in January 2023.

Based in south east London, the five-piece make music inspired by that era, offering a blend of indie, grunge and noise rock. While they list PJ Harvey, Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine as artists they admire, they are individually influenced by a wide range of genres spanning several decades, prompting their eclectic sound. Their first single will be released in 2023.
