Strobe

About

Performing from her adolescent years, Strobe's musical identity has been actively influenced by icons such as Michael Jackson, Steven Tyler, Lady Gaga and Madonna. Through her love of electronic music and individualism there comes a distinctive sound of synthesised pop from the singer/songwriter, which is showcased through her eccentric stage performances. Strobe's debut EP 'CLARICE', which is to be released early 2015, heralds the arrival of a surreal, stylised talent who is yet to break boundaries.

Growing up in Lancaster in the North West of England, the dazed blonde learnt to play the violin from a young age having always had a solid enthusiasm for music. She formed a keen interest in singing through auditioning for school musical theatre productions such as Little Shop of Horrors and Bugsy Malone, in which she landed major roles. It was then that Strobe discovered she had a talent for performing. Scouted by her school's Jazz band she sung tunes by the likes of Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder to small audiences in venues around the area, challenging herself with a broader range of musical genres and undergoing a serious attitude towards music.

Strobe went on to adopt an explicit relationship with performance art and by the age of eighteen was devoted to becoming a music artist. Strobe additionally attained an admiration for electronic dance music, giving her creative direction when it came to the sound she wanted to produce. Having previous experience in acting through The Duke's youth theatre, her vision was to give birth to a pop musical theatre production fuelled by originality – and so she wrote her first song in front of a piano.

Since moving to London in 2011 the British synth-pop artist has fully-formed herself as both a musician and a performance artist, developing her craft through the invention of her debut EP CLARICE. Strobe is currently rehearsing her new material to establish the bold stage show she always envisioned, holding no limitations.
