Four schoolmates from Colchester spent summers thrashing out late teenage masterpieces in parents’ living rooms. School finished, different paths were followed and the band became little more than a memory. Fast forward a decade or so, Ben, Michael, Dom and Sam met up under a railway arch in London armed with new ideas. 5 years, several gigs, EPs and radioplay on BBC 6Music later, guitarist Charlie is welcomed to the band with Michael departing. With a tight yet big sound and using melody as the anchor, the self-exploratory lyrics run while the music meanders between snappy indie hooks and explosive hard rock. Sunday Arches offer a sonic spectrum while keeping one eye on the pop ideals.
