About The Attic Doctors
The Greater Manchester based outfit fuse floor-filling beats, riff-driven yet melodic guitar work and infectious hook-lines. Dean Peatfield’s sharp and topical vocal delivery dissects burning subjects in today’s modern age such as employment, technology, existence and love. Guitarist Joe Cubbin’s sound has been described as ‘like a pissed off Nile Rodgers’, while Matt Dagger and Jack Smith on the bass and drums take care of a water-tight rhythm section, often taking elements from other genres such as dance, hip hop and funk to add a whole new dimension to the band’s sound.
After a string of 2018 dates in the UK and Europe – From Salford’s tight-knit Eagle Inn to a packed-out Camden Assembly, a headline slot at Le Truskel, Paris and a Musicians Against Homelessness festival in Sheffield – The Attic Doctors continue to make headway through 2019 and beyond. Triumphant double shows at Jimmy’s, Manchester with national promoters This Feeling, and work with top UK producer Gavin Monaghan (Robert Plant, The Editors, Paolo Nutini) have paved their year so far.
The band recently received backing from Jacqui Abbott of The Beautiful South for their acoustic rendition of ‘Rotterdam’ which they sometimes perform.
