'The Fred Hampton Appreciation Society' are an eclectic mix of a band; with years of experience playing in various combos; who released their debut album late last year, and have been going down a storm wherever they’ve played since.

The Fred Hampton Appreciation Society is an eight-piece band based in north-west London who make music for your head, heart and feet. Think, feel and dance. Their name honours the Chicago Black Panther chairman who was murdered aged just 21 in 1969, hence their aptly named, shortly to be released debut album ‘Songs of Love and Resistance’. Outstanding lead vocalist Pamela Nyambo grew up in Leicester of Zimbabwean heritage. She has a uniquely attractive voice honed in Gospel choirs of her youth. Bass player Ronnie Maxwell is a tennis coach by day and veteran of the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra, and most recently the acclaimed Scorpios. Guitarist is the talented Mr Justin Whillock, of The Herbaliser engineer background. Trumpet expert Dawid Fredryck gained a music degree in Poland before seeking professional success with a wide variety of London-based musicians including The Scorpios. Roger Milton on saxophone is a gardener by trade who nurtured the band’s keyboard wizard – his son Laurie ‘Kid Fingers’ Milton. The drummer and founder of the band is Nick Grant an Arts practitioner and all round connoisseur of everything music. Percussionist Giorgio Nolli, has his roots playing in several Latin-based big bands and adds his percussive sparkle and embellishment to the bands infectious sound. 

They are keen to get out to more venues and play their music to a broader audience whenever and wherever they can!
