Those of us with ears wide open to winning pop melodies, meaningful lyrics and time-honoured song craft sat bolt upright recently to welcome the arrival of The Gleeman.

‘The Gunslinger’ Acoustic EP marked a refreshing return to the sort of skilled compositions that you might have thought were lost somewhere around the late 1970s. 

A key figure in the journey of The Gleeman was David Grant, an A-list hitmaker himself. For his debut album Something To Say, David put The Gleeman in touch with producer Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran) who enlisted a fine cast of supporting musicians including Ash Soan on drums (Adele), Fred Abbott on guitar/keys (Noah & The Whale) and indeed, David Grant on backing vocals.
