The Moods are Manchester’s premier electro hip-hop dance outfit, and their message is loud and clear. This 9-strong band unifies rap, brass and beats, with soulful vocals, delivering potent, political lyrics for a post-2016 world. The Moods will make you dance, and then they’ll make you think. Born out of a musical experiment in North Manchester’s Boomshack Studios in early 2015, The Moods quickly gathered members and momentum. A dizzying amalgamation of producers and poets, they swiftly honed their very own sound, which, when taken live, quite simply blew their audiences away. It wasn’t long before they attracted the attention of local radio stations and journalists like John Robb and Terry Christian, too. The Moods ended 2016 on an absolute high, with raucous, sell-out gigs in London, Glasgow and Manchester. As the world reflected on the travesty that was 2016, The Moods channeled their energy into writing and performing their vital, mighty music. As they surge into 2017, The Moods have plenty to look forward to: they have just signed an artist development deal with A1M records and two of their tracks have been chosen for the soundtrack of new UK feature film Strangeways Here We Come. This summer, the Moods will be taking their bold, live show on the road, with appearances at festivals across the UK. Autumn will see the release of their album, Missing Peace, followed by even more unmissable gigs
