Lewisham born and raised Singer/Songwriter Humphrey Fordham aka The Shattered June started writing and performing at a certifiable age. He began making a name for himself in 2010, playing the open-mic circuit as well as diverse venues in the Home Counties, Cambridgeshire and New York City. The roots of his stage name go back to 1989, when as a late-teenager, he fantasised about what he would call his ideal band. The name, The Shattered Junes immediately popped into his head. Using it in its singular form proved to be a veritable choice many years later. Using the pre-WW2 Mississippi Delta Blues as a key influence (Robert Johnson, Skip James, Son House) along with the lyrical twists and turns of Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Syd Barrett and Robert Smith; his songs are unashamedly poetic and cinematic, alluding to key experiences from his youth. Humphrey has also just revived his sideline of a Music Journalist, reviewing artistes he knows through nepotistic connections as well as the current open-mic scene. His work can be found on on the Subba-Cultcha website as well as the Extricate Blogspot.
