The Steady Letters

About

Indie-rock four-piece ‘The Steady Letters’ are combining fiery vocals, bluesy licks and driving beats to create an electrifying hit of garage rock which has galvanised the genre and powered their tight live shows.

Born and raised in London, singer-guitarist Joe Bayley was exposed to a wild range of genres but rock music was always in his heart. He taught himself to sing and play guitar from an early age and after some time spent watching the scene move through different forms, he set out to create something that would stand alongside his musical idols. He wrote, recorded and produced the band’s initial EP from scratch- in a spare room in South London- before recruiting the full line-up for subsequent shows and records.

“After some time spent away from playing music, I realised that it had given me so much- I wanted to give something back. That feeling when the lights go down and the first guitar note rings out around the venue- it’s something that still sends chills down my spine. I want our music to give that feeling to other people.”

The Steady Letters released their debut EP in 2017, followed by their first single ‘Animals’ in 2018. With new releases and live shows planned throughout 2019, they are sure to keep growing their dedicated and steady fanbase this year.
