“Hot Pick” of the UK Students Radio Chart Show 2016, “The Step” is an Italian Indie/Alternative band based in London. Born in 2007 in Rome with Stefano Donato, the band moved to London where Oliviero Fella joined in 2013. After gigging in important venues around London and playing for Noel Gallagher at his official aftershow party in March 2015 the band released their debut EP in December 2014. Their single “Gravity” has been played by 40 regional and student radio stations around UK, and has been nominated “Record Of The Week” on BFBS British Forces Radio and broadcasted in 23 countries. The Brazilian TV channel SBT has chosen “Gravity” and “Something More” to be part of the soundtrack of the TV Drama “Cúmplices de Um Resgate” while their single “Let It Go Friends” has been played in September 2015 by DJ Jim Gellatly on Amazing Radio. Their cover of “Across The Universe” is on air now in all “Bill’s” restaurants around UK on the morning playlist. “Horizon” has been picked to be part of the soundtrack of an Italian movie called “On Air” out in theatres 31st of March 2016. Single “Stay Awake” mixed by Liam Nolan (Adele 25) has been played by BBC Introducing Coventry by presenter Brody Swain, around UK, and reached Alaska and Australia’s regional radios. The Step toured two weeks in February 2016 playing 23 universities around UK for the Coffee House Sessions during the summer they played in Rome as well as at the Camden Rocks Festival, Taste Festival, Sofar Sounds and Staycation Festival.
