The Willpower

About

Created in memory of a mutual tragic loss, The WillPower are proof that a harmony of dedication, enthusiasm and determination is the perfect arsenal required to tackle the monster that is the music industry. Consisting of vocalist Daniel Marcs, guitarists Ashley Tarrant and Nick Essex, bassist Katie Tarrant and drummer Glenyth, The WillPower have spawned a sound that blends the fresh individuality of indie music with a melodic technical complexity, whilst still maintaining that crisp modern groove. “We strive to be a musical voice for our generation, producing music that explores topics of common struggle amongst the youthful branch of modern society.”

Since their 2011 formation, the quintet have written an ample collection of songs, which have since become the foundation of their growing fan base and loyal relationship with local venues. These songs will be unveiled as a four-part EP that is due to be released over the course of 2013. Part I: Take Me Out is scheduled for a January 2013 release and features a dynamic range of musical delicacies, including unique lyrical content and innovative bass lines and guitar work. ‘Take Me Out’ addresses a prominent theme of relationships and the emotional ties and complications often associated with them. This is an evident commonality amongst the trials and tribulations of adolescent life. Thus, The WillPower hope to bring support, guidance but, primarily, enjoyment to its fans via this first instalment of their music.

Diversely, the five-piece are distributing their dedication and passion on a large scale by releasing an additional self-titled EP. The content will explore a range of more sensitive topics, including suicide and drug abuse, and the funds that it raises will be given solely to local Bexley charity ‘Mind’.
The WillPower pride themselves in having a diverse and durable flexibility in the type of performances they can offer. With sets consisting of original material, cover material or a mixture of both ranging from half an hour to over an hour long, they make the ideal entertainment package for any pub or music venue. With a frequent reputation of bringing in a healthy following to each show, this indie collective can promise a jam-packed, energetic and memorable night for everyone involved.
