Tom Griffin

About

“Beautiful songs with deep lyrics and catchy melodies” is how BBC Music Introducing describe Tom Griffin’s blend of folk, jazz and blues inspired songwriting.

The Oxford-based singer-songwriter is an experienced performer, hosting his own headline gigs, playing a variety of venues and festivals as well as providing successful support for many well known acts on the folk circuit.

Tom’s influences are rooted in music dating back to the blues-men of the Delta, folk singers from the Dust Bowl and even traditional spirituals to more contemporary artists such as his guitar heroes Hendrix, SRV and David Gilmour. Tom prides himself on the stories behind the songs he performs and believes that behind every great song is an even greater tale to tell the audience.

Tom currently has three independent releases to his name, the most recent of which being a live session at BBC Music Introducing – a stripped-back acoustic performance in front of a live audience which was recorded and released as a live EP. The session received a headline feature on the radio show and demonstrates Tom’s current performance style and songwriting ability.
