Tom Vevers

About

Tom Vevers writes music about love, life, loss and personal experiences combining witty, poetic and story-driven lyrics; catchy, attention-grabbing melodies and a strong, emotive and unique Scottish voice to create memorable music that buries itself in the mind of the listener. Tom’s approach to songwriting is unique in its vulnerability; his ‘heart on the sleeve’ approach draws people in, making his live performances intense, emotional “pin drop” affairs.

He has been performing for several years now and has been gaining considerable attention within the Scottish music scene. He has had his music featured on several radio stations, online blogs and performed on several Scottish music television programs including Rapal TV for BBC ALBA and the Riverside Show (now Live At Five) for STV Glasgow. He has performed in various venues across the country with several well established acts including Adam Stafford, Rachel Sermanni and Young Fathers to name a few. Over the past few years he has performed at several festivals including ButeFest, Audio Soup, Eden Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Celtic Connections as well as several smaller Scottish festivals.

More recently, Tom performed his first London show at the Roundhouse in Camden as part of Rising Sounds 2016. Tom recorded his single, ‘Without You’ with Kevin Paul (David Bowie, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) and performed it at a sold out launch show in the venue in January 2016. From this, Tom has continued to build his audience throughout 2017 with sell out shows at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Broadcast and Nice N Sleazys.

Work has begun on Tom’s new recording; a body of work released in two parts. ‘Exactly What You Need Right Now’ is scheduled for release in 2018 with production work handled by Tom and Robbie Orr, a Glasgow-based musician and producer. The album will convey the raw, immersive emotional performances that Tom achieves in his live shows, and will be supported by a series of promotional events, launch shows and performances throughout the year towards the recording’s release.
