Trevor Crafer

About

“In most of the songs I write, I am either crying or moaning about something” East London born Trevor Crafer’s work certainly explores these territories frequently but the wider picture is more complex. Humour and pathos are also in evidence, coupled with sweet melodies and some intoxicating piano riffs.

Trevor takes a wry, intelligent and world weary view of life which he works into his songs. A self taught, instinctive musician with a huge respect for the artists’ footsteps in which he follows, his style is reminiscent of New Orleans legends such as Dr. John and Allen Toussaint. His music elicits a good time, discussion and a bit of a chuckle. He has played in bands over the years, but keeps returning to the ‘man and piano’ scenario. He plays for the sheer pleasure of it and always enjoys an audience’s reaction to his songs. He is playing small gigs across London and can be found sneaking under the headliners.
