It’s no surprise that a City as unique as Liverpool can bring together a band so striking as Wide Eyed Boy. Two parts British, one part German, and one part Australian this 4 piece take their adopted home’s heritage seriously. From the internationalist culture of the city, to its inevitable musical lineage.
Oliver Nagy (Vocals), Jonny Ball (Guitars), Kobi Pham (Guitars) and Tom Taylor (Drums) met at McCartney’s LIPA, an institution that is carving itself out as a hotbed of new talent, most recently with Frances and Dan Croll. They bonded over a shared love of music, Michael Jackson, Bowie and the Liverpool greats of The Wombats, The Zutons and Circa Waves and recently decamped to Budapest to write new songs for their debut EP due for release in February 2017
Recruiting fellow Liverpool resident Rich Turvey (Cabbage, Blossoms, Darlia) they have just completed their eponymously titled EP featuring first single “Wolves”. As Nagy suggests “…it is about letting people in that are bad for you.
