Despite only launching himself as a solo performer in July 2016, Will Whisson has introduced himself as one of the most exciting new talents to emerge from the UK recently thanks to the release of 2 successful EPs and a no-rest-for-the-wicked touring schedule.
Trading in his home, job and possessions for an old camper van and a life on the road, Will began his journey by busking on the streets of Belgium and has continued to build up his profile with a ferocious tenacity. 200 gigs, 10 countries and 2 EPs later, it’s safe to say he has already covered some distance, gaining support from fans and critics along the way.
Will’s most recent EP release, entitled ‘Nowhere Bound’ (produced by Peter Miles (Dry The River, Lonely the Brave) came out at the end of 2017 and can be heard here.
The music video for the title track of the EP, was shot immediately after the studio session and saw Will take on the challenge of riding a bike over the length of England, raising over £2000 for Cancer Research in the process:
Having just completed recording for a debut album in Ireland, this will be an opportunity to hear brand new material which Will has been working on for over a year.
With Record of the Day predicting – ‘he’ll be winning lots of new friends with this simply gorgeous blend of organic folk-tinged pop,’ Will continues his upward trajectory across Europe with a sound that is one of optimism, positivity and freedom.
