Annie Callahan

About

Annie Callahan is a singer-songwriter from Kent. Growing up her influences were deep rooted in rock music, with bands such as Iron Maiden, Linkin Park and Muse shaping her early musical style. Annie plays guitar and drums, and was the former frontwoman of rock band Beyond Innocence. In 2010, Annie picked up an acoustic guitar and found a whole new sound, embracing the singer-songwriter genre. Her musical style took a turn towards folk, with rock influences still taking hold. Annie’s influences as a singer-songwriter include Frank Turner, Will Varley, Rise Against, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Beans on Toast, Gaz Brookfield amongst many more.

As a solo artist, Annie began gigging and playing at open mic nights around her local bars and pubs in Kent and Surrey. In April 2013, she released a four track self-recorded EP online, which received a positive response. One year on in 2014, she took to the studio with a drummer and bassist to record her much bigger, fuller and more developed sound, resulting in a four track EP called Wasted Nights.

Annie now plays regularly around Kent, Surrey and London, and hosts a monthly live music night in Kent. She is the lead singer/guitarist for rock covers band OK Annie, gigging regularly. As of early 2018, she has released new tracks online with a refreshed, more mature sound, including ‘Time’ and ‘Whiskey ’til the Morning’. You can check these out www.soundcloud.com/annie-callahan
