Aurel

About

Aurel writes music that is intense and enigmatic, sounds turned colours that stick to your head whether you want it or not. By collaborating with artists and like-minded mavericks, Aurel is creating a fictional world that is both melodically and visually enticing. Aurel grew up on the backstage of her parents’ orchestra, accompanying them on worldwide tours and surrounded by classical musicians. She played piano, cello, flute and guitar as a kid, but she never wanted to become a classical musician: her passion was writing her own songs. Aurel has been writing ever since. Music became her way to exorcise her fears and to create a connection with herself and to tell fascinating stories. However, finding her own musical voice wasn’t easy. Her journey took her on several tours with her electro-pop band and to a very painful break from music before moving to London and starting anew. In London she started a collaboration with Grammy Award-winning producer Brett Shaw, resulting in single Disposable Lies.
