Kicking off her 2018 Cecil has been nominated for Best Female Solo Act for the U.M.A Awards this year which has come off the back of her latest single and all she achieved in 2017. 2018 will see Cecil perform at the Henley Festival on the main stage with BBC introducing warming up for the legendary Grace Jones. Also confirmed AYL Festival in Reading in conjunction with BBC 6 music, Eroica festival main stage, Canterbury Sound Project and many more are being added. Cecils music has been featured on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing and many more. Here is some background info on Cecil: Cecil is an alternate indie pop artist from Berkshire . She released her debut E.P in April 2017 which received support from BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, BBC Berkshire, BBC Solent, BBC Oxford, BBC Coventry & Warwickshire and many other regional radio stations. Cecil takes her name from her great uncle Cecil Mcgivern who was Radio/broadcasting pioneer for British radio and T.V who wrote several wartime radio plays during World War II for the BBC. He also wrote the original screenplay for the original 1946 version of Charles Dickens famous novel "Great Expectations" and he was also awarded a CBE.
