Earthsea

About

Earthsea are an alternative rock band from London, UK (via Cheshire, Hertfordshire and Shropshire) and are old friends. They write songs that contain textural soundscapes, salsa grooves and haunting melodies and take influences from Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Elbow and Japan, as well as a whole host of electronic and contemporary classical influences.

They’ve embarked on two nationwide tours and have played at UK venues such as Camden Assembly, Hoxton Bar and Grill, the Cavern Club and Manchester Academy 3. They have also been featured on XFM, BBC Introducing, The Manchester Evening News and Tom Robinson’s ‘Fresh on the Net’.

They have recently recorded two singles at Narcissus Studios (founded by Antony Genn & Martin Slattery), due for release in late 2019, and are working on their first full length release to follow up their 2017 EP ‘Specimen’.

“By taking this unorthodox adventure into unmapped soundscapes, Earthsea have shown they are willing risk-takers and fearless experimentalists who put originality ahead of populism” – Derval Mcloat (Fresh On The Net
