Golden Bantic began as a solo project in early 2016. Writing and recording tracks in his bedroom and releasing his music via Soundcloud, Logan McKelvey quickly gained recognition from BBC Introducing and performed a live session for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire’s Tom Simkins in April 2016.
Here, the project began to change shape; Mckelvey pursuing a more guitar led sound, whilst maintaining the electronic elements which characterize Golden Bantic. Bringing other musicians on board, McKelvey, already working with Juan Coquet (drums) added Harvey Simpson (Van Susans) on bass guitar and began to work with additional guitar players and keyboard players as the band’s live sound developed.
Golden Bantic saw a very fruitful 2017, earning a slot at the last ever “Secret Garden Party” as well as BBC Radio 1 airtime and headline slots at local festivals.
Wrapping up 2017 with the release of a trilogy of new singles: “Teapot”, “Billy” and “Pink”, Golden Bantic seem certain to capitalise on whatever gets thrown their way in 2018.
