IORA’s (aka Holly Phelps) was described as a unique, impossible-to-pigeonhole brand of songcraft by Manchester Evening News. Her music is a combination of haunting vocal and instrument harmonies, marries with electronic sound and samples, intriguing the audience with their originality.

The debut single of Thieves’ Den saw a wealth of support from BBC Introducing Manchester. Winner of BBC sound 2018, Sigrid, selected Thieves’ Den for her personal BBC Radar playlist. Holly was named as “An artist to watch in 2018” by BBC Radio 2, also support from Tom Robinson BBC 6 music and BBC Radio Manchester, Mike Sweeney.

Her second single, Minotaur mind, saw 12,000 steams and a remix of the track was created by Murder He Wrote. She has been apart of a few residencies, including working with Beth Orton, a week at the Sage, Gateshead. Previous festival appearances include Dot-to-Dot, 2000 trees, Folk on the Dock, ArcTanGent. Holly has also released a charity single ‘Human Touch’ for Lifeshare, to raise funding for homeless people in Manchester.

IORA’s Debut EP has received funding from the PRS emerging Artist Fund, which will be released this April. The launch night with taking place at the Southbank Centre in London.
