L I P S

About

Indie/Jangle pop band L I P S are a four-piece from Falmouth, Cornwall. Teetering on the edge of woozy shoegaze and understated dream-pop,they balance it all out with pinpoint songwriting, moving live shows and a consistently keen eye for aesthetics.

Their debut single ‘Apartment’, represents a progression for the band into a well-oiled and focused, reverberant machine. The instrumentation is layered meticulously, the vocals drift elegantly with 80’s pop inspired melodies and the coda crushes balefully.

Given the recent response to ‘Apartment’, L I P S show no signs of slowing down with an EP on the horizon, strong support from BBC Introducing and a growing fanbase. Having supported bands such as Lorelle Meets The Obsolete and exciting upcoming shows in venues like Rough Trade.

The shimmering vocals of Rachel Anstis are surrounded by shadowy guitars and percussion, and the final result is astonishing. – Wickedd Childd

The contrast of sweet and sugary vocals paired with fuzzy and loud guitar rock remind of successful bands like The Cranberries or The Sundays who made that contrast work. L I P S are also making it work and the potential for this quartet is huge. – The Revue

It’s the perfect mix of fuzzy ambience and dozy melodies. – Buffablog
