Hailing from the hills of North Wales, Mared’s music is driven by powerful vocals and incorporates a journey of emotional pop/folk and jazz styles with double bass, violin, kit, keys and vocals. Influences derive from the likes of Lucy Rose, Robert Plant and Norah Jones.  She released her live EP 'Noises in the Night' in November 2017, from which her single 'Somber Man', with 'gripping melodies and ethereal lyrics' caught the attention of @Alan Raw on @BBC Introducing West Yorkshire @BBC Radio Leeds. Living in Leeds led her to work with African blues band, Sifaka, gigging at Brixton, London and supporting the Kaiser Chiefs at Bingley Music Live Festival 2017. Her collaboration debuts include two feature tracks with Leeds-based Majestic Casual signed electronic duo, @Denton Thrift, 'Fear in the Night' and ‘Something Real’, which have currently reached 640,000 streams on Spotify alone. Having now developed her own versatile bilingual set, and having recently placed 2nd in live TV national Welsh song competition, @Cân i Gymru, she has gigged around Leeds and Manchester, alongside a range of Welsh language festivals.
