PICNIC

About

Hailing from the seaside suburbs of Sunderland, PICNIC have built their reputation as one of the brightest talents in the North East through their funky rhythms, impeccably catchy choruses, and outstanding live performances. The seven piece initially formed back in2015, with early releases such as ‘France’ and ‘I Ain’t Got No Money’ quickly turning heads. Many legendary figures of Sunderland’s music scene (such as members of The Futureheads and Field Music) were keen to point out their talent and potential. In February 2018, the band were even asked to perform live for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge during the Royal couple’s debut visit to Sunderland.
The band’s popularity has swelled over the last couple of years, with their debut single ‘Girls’ Night’ attracting positive attention and airplay from the likes of
BBC Introducing (North East) and even BBC 6 Music late in the year. PICNIC’s most recent headline show came agonisingly close to a sell-out at Newcastle’s
Think Tank? in September, and the band also bagged support slots for the likes of Fickle Friends and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics in front of capacity crowds.
2019 is certain to be an exciting year for the band, with more new material on the horizon and their upcoming Newcastle live dates having all ALREADY sold out.

PICNIC are: Robyn (vox), Eddie (guitar), Danny (guitar), Olivia (keys), Calum (bass), Kris (saxophone) and Matty (drums/percussion).
