Rob Phillimore

About

Rob Phillimore is a singer-songwriter from Cornwall UK, greatly influenced by americana and country music.

“I was born at the end of the earth, I was heading for the centre of the universe. Unprepared and under-rehearsed. Misunderstanding how this whole thing works – Allow me to introduce myself…I’m nobody you know!”

An accomplished songwriter, an energetic performer and a strong, versatile vocalist: Rob Phillimore has developed and honed his skills throughout a decade+ long career: crafting honest, relatable and memorable songs that have led to him playing some of the UK’s most popular venues and festivals, with his music receiving regular airplay on BBC radio and a variety of independent stations.

His latest project – In Case You Didn’t Know – is available to stream & download now on all major digital music platforms. In Case You Didn’t Know features two brand new tracks – Slow Fade & Solid Gold – and is the first release from a set of e.p’s dubbed The Forever Anonymous Collection, with further releases set for 2018.

Drawing inspiration from various genres: country, americana, rock n roll, folk, classic & alternative rock – Rob names Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and R.E.M as his greatest inspirations, whilst noting Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Robert Ellis and John Moreland as artists who have had a significant impact on his songwriting in more recent years. It would be remiss of us not to mention also, the influence of Del Amitri, Warren Zevon, Tim Mcgraw and Brad Paisley…the list goes on. The artists mentioned above, and many more, have shaped and impacted not only Rob’s music, but his life.

A true believer in the power of music, of songs and of songwriting and songwriters. Passionate, dedicated and loyal to the music and artists that made him. A dreamer of bigger things and better days. Just a small town kid with a dream, all grown up and making his way through this crazy world as best he can, just like everyone else.
