Shiners

About

SHINERS are an East London 4-piece Brit Wave band who grew up listening to their parent’s punk and new wave records, while at the height of Brit Pop. They write catchy pop songs drenched in post-punk angular guitars, driving bass, 60s keys and punchy drums. Songwriter Jamie Delaney knows how to take a pristine melody and gleefully smash it to bits.
First championed by BBC Introducing Norfolk, SHINERS picked up a coveted featured artist slot on BBC Introducing London in 2015, before heading to Scotland to entertain crowds at T-in the Park Festival in 2016. Huw Stephens played two live tracks from their set on his show, plus Sophie Little played their single ’19 Again’ while sitting in. They capped off an incredible year with a session for BBC Introducing Norfolk in December 2016. Their visceral live performance has seen the group support Spector, Superfood, The Bohicas, Nothing But Thieves and DMA’s, as well as a series of sold-out London basement bar headline shows.

2017 has seen the band continue to write, record and release their unique brand of smart alternative British guitar pop with singles like ‘(I Feel So) Blunt’ and ‘Just Got Paid’. Their debut EP ‘Now 2017’ is out on Kobalt / AWAL on 24th November 2017 featuring new single and slice of social commentary ‘Generation Y’.
