SIR JONNY BOON

About

Hooky, upbeat songs? Check. Melodramatic lyrics by the barrel-load? Check. Ukuleles, glockenspiels and accordions? Also, check.

Combining the angsty lyrics and energy of everyone’s teenage emo phase with left-field folksy instrumentation, SIR JONNY BOON is an act like no other. Since setting out on his quest to conquer the world, the intrepid songwriter has taken his unique sound across the UK gig and festival circuit and beyond, winning a regional open mic competition, supporting 70s hitmaker Tom Robinson and releasing a tonne of quirky pop music in the process. Take his latest album ‘Death and Daytime TV’, which was released to critical acclaim in 2017 and is helping to raise funds for a selection of mental health and suicide-prevention charities. It is brimming with weird and wonderful musings about the macabre, channeled via idiosyncratic songs about vampires, woollen jumpers and an appearance on the Channel 4 TV show Countdown. With a unique stage presence and endless singalong opportunities, a SIR JONNY BOON performance is not one to be missed.
