A Group of Bears is called a Sleuth. This was the title of the EP released in Dec18 to great reviews; Post-it-note Prophecies was played by Steve Lamacq on BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing played a couple of tracks (‘Beautiful’), Ryan’s Gig Guide awarded Group of Bears EP of the month (‘firmly establishes Sleuth as a deep meaningful and confident songwriter’ & ‘incredible EP’) while Express & Star called the EP ‘beautifully crafted’.
Sleuth has also aired on Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music & Mixtape, played shows with Gaz Coombes, Mark Morriss and John Bramwell and appeared at the International Pop Overthrow Festival at the Cavern, Liverpool two consecutive years now.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day 2019 Sleuth stuck his head in a guillotine for the music video to Post-it-note Prophecies directed by Nick J Townsend and featuring a real magician.
The EP Coming Up For Air was the cover of Ryan’s Gig Guide in 2017 with a two page spread inside.
Sleuth has been described by reviewers as ‘truly remarkable’, ‘excellent songwriting’, ‘wonderfully passionate, beautifully structured’, ‘lyrically thoughtful and musically enticing’ and ‘like a consoling chat with a reassuring friend’.x
