Stanleys

About

“They are one of the most talked about bands in the area” and “The hype should not be disregarded”. Two quotes from the mouth of the well-respected Manchester Evening News group writer and Revolution 96.2 radio presenter Dave Sweetmore.

Stanleys are a 4-piece band from Wigan – Greater Manchester, consisting of Tom (Vocals), Jake (Guitar), Harry (Bass) and Rob (Drums).

Influenced a lot by the sound of 60’s guitar pop and 90s Britpop, the group have had a busy and successful year. Formed in 2017, the band started off by playing pubs and entertaining locals but the fan base soon expanded. In the summer of 2018 the band played the highly talked about indie nightclub ‘Indiependence Wigan’, selling over 100 tickets purely on word of mouth. As well as performing at over forty live gigs, they’ve also played The Cavern’s famous Monday Night Live event and headlined a gig at the University as well as playing headline shows at Jimmy’s and Night People in Manchester.

The 4 piece made their radio debut in the summer of 2018 and their first two demo tracks ‘Measured In Gold’ and ‘So Long’ featured on Manchester Radio Station Revolution 96.2. Both ‘So Long’ and ‘Measured In Gold’ were also featured on BBC Introducing’s show on BBC Radio Manchester and later BBC Radio Merseyside in 2018 and received great reviews, being described as “Well thought out musicianship” and that the band “were well on the way to making something special”.
