About

We are a 4 piece experimental/alternative rock band based in Brighton, taking influence from a range of bands including The Smashing Pumpkins, John Frusciante, Pixies, Queens of The Stone Age and more.

We write and perform our compositions in D standard tuning to create a rich and deep tonal quality. Accompanying this with a range of guitar effects, and an inventive use of unconventional chords and scales, we pride ourselves on having a unique sound that defies genre. Instead of adhering to stylistic constraints, we aim to create an innovative sound by allowing the creative process to be as open and experimental as possible, and through the incorporation of a range of diverse artistic and stylistic influences.

Our first song ‘Scuba’ is a melancholic and meandering journey through a sludgy river of rippling guitars, with a heavy, melodic chorus that washes over you and leaves you capsized. Contrary to this ‘The Duke That Jives’ is a fast-paced, 7-minute odyssey which combines groovy riffs with intricate drums, finally culminating in a powerful and driving outro.
